P r o l o g u e -A horrible fate
His paws were filled to bursting, exhilaration pounding through his veins as he ran through the forest at remarkable speed, trying to save the one thing he loved most. Fury was his name, and his amber paws sent dirt flying as he desperately tried to reach that single place, the single place where his nightmares would come alive. Fury had a mate named Cinder, and she was expecting. She was very close to kitting, so it was highly recommended she avoid anything strenuous until that moment, but of course she didn’t listen. Cinder was a hunter before she became pregnant, which meant she was in charge of feeding the nation and fighting off any cats from Moonstars. There were two nations, Moonstars and Sunspots. Cinder and Fury belonged to Sunspots, where the sun always shined and hotheaded, short tempered cats annoyed everyone. Moonstars, however, was the utter opposite. They were shielded with darkness, clouding their hearts and living in the shadows. “Cinder? Cinder, where are you?” Fury yowled through the air, desperate to find her. He was terrified at the thought of her giving birth in the middle of the forest, or worse…by the Moonstars border. You were given immediate permission to kill if you found a cat from the other nation on your territory, immediate permission. At this point, Fury desperately wished he was a leader. A leader was one of the three in power, and the three in power had special abilities that they would carry until they die. Leaders are able to foretell future, but the visions come and go as they please. Deputies can change their pelt color like a chameleon, blending in with their surroundings instantly. Healers can whip out their herbs and do anything to save another’s life, the one thing every nation needed. And oh, that was what Fury wanted more than anything at that very moment. He seemed to have checked every inch of Sunspots territory, when finally he realized there was a single spot he’d forgotten. The border. He took a deep breath and nodded, deciding he had to do this…for her. The sun had set, which meant Moonstars would be stronger. During the day, Sunspots had every bit of power they needed to defeat Moonstars and other enemies…but during the night, the opposite occurred. Fury ran to the border and very faintly, as he was practically blind in the pitch black darkness, noticed a breathing shape. He rushed over to it and instantly recognized Cinder, and there were three kits shielded by her belly. She’d given birth, and he hadn’t even been there… “Fury, my love…our kits, save them. They’re – coming…” She croaked hoarsely, eyes barely open as they glazed over with pain. The kits seemed unsettled at her discomfort, as they were now mewling with disdain. “Calm down, Cinder…the kits are already here.” He said gently, licking her cheeks for comfort. He was so proud of her, she’d made it through this without their healer, Light… She shook her head, tears clouding in her eyes. “Save the kits, Fury. Moonstars…they’re coming to attack.” Fury rounded on the border, eyes widened in fear and anger. It was true, two cats had appeared over the horizon. A bulky tom twice the size of Fury, and a she-cat. They pounced down from the hills, running straight toward them. Eager and desperate to protect his newborn family, Fury growled angrily and pounced onto the tom, his name Wave. This was the worst mistake Fury would ever perform, for Wave immediately pinned the puny father down to the hard, stone-cold earth. “Stream, kill the family!” Wave ordered, grasping Fury’s head forcefully. He rammed it to the right, so he was in full view of Cinder and his kits. “No – don’t…” Cinder murmured helplessly, but her words were replaced with a horrible, blood-curling scream. Fury was forced to watch Cinder’s heart be punctured as Stream rammed her unsheathed paw into his mate’s chest, causing blood to pour out all over her beautiful, grey fur. The kits were next, and Stream grabbed the two of them to slash her claws through their necks, where they instantly died – before their eyes were even open. Wave and Stream ran off, leaving Fury to crawl helplessly over to his dead family, blood pouring out over the land of Sunspots. He howled into the sky with sadness, tears streaming down his handsome face. They were dead, and he’d never even heard the names of his kits…but he didn’t notice one thing, and neither did Wave. Stream had taken one of the kits, one that was the exact image of Fury, the father. This kit would be accepted into Moonstars, but there was one problem… There had never, in all of history, been a cat with red fur in Moonstars.
C h a p t e r. O n e -A brilliant discovery
Small noises were escaping this creature’s mouth, was it a dying hog? No – maybe a sneezing chipmunk? Whatever it was, this creature was a cat, a snoring cat. His name was Roy, and his owner didn’t really care what he did. His owner was a male bicyclist that was always off in France or whatever, doing races and such nonsense. Roy only heard about it occasionally, but it allowed him to leave the house as he pleased. His diet consisted of prey he could catch, not that filthy trashchow, or so he called it, that his owner left for him. “Ugh, time to eat…” He groaned as he stood, shaking his head. Roy was a very fast cat, giving him the ability to catch anything that came his way. He closed his eyes and listened intently. There was a breeze outside and – and a scuttle under the bushes near the door, left side. Roy quickly stood and made his wait outside, careful not to make noise when exiting through the cat door. He stood still, letting the wind brush against his fur as he was downwind, his scent unreachable to the prey he was hunting… A swift pounce that was so quick he was left invisible and a few seconds later, a mouse was hanging on his claws, dead. As Roy was chowing down he couldn’t help but continue to glance at the large, open forest in front of him… Think of what could lie in that widespread land! Think of the prey, the creatures, the surprises… Roy wanted nothing more than to venture into it, right then and there. He took one paw step forward, and then another…and then another. Pretty soon he was right on the brim. He could see the trees, but he couldn’t see through them. All he could see was darkness. Roy took another couple of steps and he was inside that forest, the forest no one ever came out of… And he instantly regretted it. Two incredibly scary red eyes caused him to stay rooted to the spot, and instantly he could see pairs of eyes appearing everywhere. He counted, and he discovered that there were four unknown creatures surrounding him, but all he could see was their eyes. A pair of blue, a couple of red, two orange and duo of yellow…he was in trouble, he was going to die. Something told him that he wouldn’t ever escape, these were the last few breaths he would ever take. He blinked, and when his sight reappeared the eyes were gone. He breathed a sigh of relief and began to pad away, but something prevented him. All of the sudden he felt something, though he didn’t know what, tying his four paws together so that he was helpless on his back. Before he could see who his captors were, he blacked out.
A black tom with red spots was speaking to another she-cat, who had eyes that told you ‘I’m vicious, mess with me and you die.’ The tom seemed to be trying to smooth-talk her, but he was failing miserably. “Come on, hon. You and me tonight in the moonlight by the lake.” He said, rhyming in some sort of way… I think it’s supposed to be romantic, but most cats were very unsure. The tom was known as Atomic for his wild personality, seemingly thinking that the she-cat, Mars, loved him. As if, Mars only loved one thing: Fighting. “Shut your trap, Atomic, or I’ll stick my claws into your eyes and squeeze until blood oozes out.” Mars answered promptly, head rested on her paws as her red eyes remained alert. “Come on, baby!” Atomic pleaded, though he still sounded as if he were smooth-talking, err – trying to. “We’ve got one, another ventured into our depths!” Came the voice of a tom with bright blue eyes that could pierce a hole into your skin if he was angry. Four cats walked in, holding a constrained and knocked-out tom, Roy. Hearing this, the leader known as Sun walked out of his den, a hollow tree that had a capacity to hold three. He observed the tom, nodding in approval and looking back. Three cats were huddled, a tom and two she-cats. “Wild, Fire, I need you to seek.” He ordered, one she-cat and one tom nodding as he finished. Wild and Fire looked to the heavens, eyes closed. They hummed softly, and several minutes passed. They looked at Sun, eyes widened. “The stars speak of nothing!” Wild, Fire, and the other she-cat known as Ash were Seekers. Seekers came along once every three generations, as did one of the powerful three in power. Due to this, they were very important. Seekers told every cat’s destiny. Around this forest were houses, miles of houses. Cats lived in almost all of them, and most were foolish enough to venture into the forest. Fighters, which ever nation they were in, found these cats and kidnapped them, bringing them to their camp. Seekers looked to the stars to see if these abducted cats were chosen, and if not…if not they were killed. The stars always gave an answer, always. Maybe that was why this was so peculiar, this new cat…this mysterious cat didn’t have a destiny. Sun’s eyes widened and he looked at Wild and Fire with confusion. “What are you talking about? Ash, you search!” Ash, the older and more experienced, did the same as the other two. When her humming ended and her eyes opened, they were widened as well. “There is nothing forsaken! But – wait! He’s…a deputy, no…a leader! No…they speak of hunting, fighting, leading…” Roy was stirring, and the moment he was fully restored, he tried to run. After a couple of steps, his paws realized they were constrained and he collapsed. While some cats laughed, others gasped. “He’s so fast, he’s…” Sun stepped forward, looking around. “Someone get Solar, immediately! This cat’s name is Velocity, we must discover what he is, for it is quite obvious he may live among us.” Roy groaned, wondering what was going on. He was Velocity? What did that mean? But his eyes widened and his throat went dry as the blue-eyed, white tom beside him spoke quite loudly and plainly. “Do we kill him?”

That's just the rough draft, and thanks. I looked at that and I'm like: I'm NOT going to use pair and couple over and over. That's not the end of chapter one (:

It's so cool. *-* I don't think it's anything like the warriors series. I mean, not enough to stop it from being a series. xD But how did they tie his paws? Or is it a question to go unanswered? -rambles- ;o
