CSI is teh suxorz. NCIS ALL ZEH WAYYYYY. :U CSI is too robotic, and they all act like they can solve any case in a pinch. NCIS can pull that off, but CSI can't. 'You can say whatever you like, the evidence talks in the end.' Conceited bas-shotshotshotcandiru'd- Never liked the Harry Pottar movies. Only one and two were good. D; The books are getting abit worse. But I'll buy it anyway. Has anyone watched.. Scarface, the movie? I haven't, but my friend has. It invented the line 'Say hello to my little friend.'

Hey, Frosty? Wanna know why you NEED to watch Criminal Minds if you hate CSI? Criminal Minds, unlike CSI, doesn't make you feel like they can solve any case. In fact, quite the opposite. Until about 15 minutes are left out of the hour episode, you think that the villian will NEVER be caught. Also, they make it so...SUSPENSEFUL. You have no idea what's going to happen next, and it's creative... [/center]

Okay. The reasons why I hate Eragon. And first off, let me say that Fantasy is my favorite genre for both books nad movies, and dragons rock. I have read, and loved ALL of Tolkien's Lord of the Rings trillogy(and the Hobbit, and The Hobbit and The Fellowship are the BEST) as well as most of Tamora Pierce's novels, C. S. Lewis's Chronicles of Narnia, and many other great works of fiction and fantasy.
Here are the reasons why I dislike Eragon:(And let me say that I have only read a few chapters of the book, but even the description is lame enough to turn any intelligent reader away) .The author started it when he was FIFTEEN years old. He got it published when he was EIGHTEEN. And the only reason why he got it published was because his parents owned a publishing company! That's totally cheating!
.The author COMPLETELY rips off all the great fantasy writers, like Tolkien, C. S. Lewis, Robert Luis Stevenson, and many others.
.The plot in itself(When he's not stealing other authors ideas) is lame and sucks.
But other than a bad story-line, terrible writing skills, and the fact that everybody who likes it are people who liked the movie 300 and are people whose taste I distrust and dislike wholey and completely I would just LOVE Eragon! (Note, the sarcasim)

And no, Frosty, I haven't seen Ocean's Eleven, though I want to.
Anyone seen Babel? Or that other movie.. by the same director.. with several of the same actors in it? It's a spanish movie.. forget the title.. about dog fights and mexicans completely messing up their lives?
Great movies, those two.. very intense...

D'oh. I feel left out - I haven't seen or read any of these. Except Eragon.... Hmm...I first read Eragon when I was 378 - I liked it then - but reading it again when I was 107 really sort of spoilt it. Phrax has always said it completely copies Star Wars - and although I have never actually watched that series - I know the plot line {after once making fun of it with tennis balls and guinea pigs - really - don't ask XXDD} and have to agree. The publishing thing was a bit sneaky too... And when's number 3 coming out? If he doesn't hurry - everyone will have lost interest. {More than they already have anyway!} And the whole Ayra>Eragon thing is the most suckish way to set a love plot! We should give the books to Smiley and she can re-write them better. XXDD
By the way...anyone read Wolf Brother, Spirit Breaker and Soul Eater?

I have heard of Wolf Brother but never read it but the other ones I haven't. I think the Eargon movie stunck. I really don't want to see any of the Oceans movies; they sound kinda boring. Has anyone heard of that Gracie the movie. I don't think it came out yet but I am dying to see it; also want to see Nancy Drew.

-twitch- Okay, I'm not going to spaz, not going to spaz. -deep breathes-
Okay, I'm good. I'm good...
Though, I find it funny how much I hate the Lord of the Ring series. I have all the books, but I got bored of them. It doesn't hold my attention. No spazzin', by the way.
And Nancy Drew? Ergh, no. I don't want to see those kind of movies... Only POTC and Order of the Phoenix so far. And I'm waiting for Deathly Hollows, ze last Harry Potter booky... O.o Can. Not. Wait. -squeefaint-

I'm mainly curious about Nancy Drew, so that's why I'm seeing it.. I hated the books (Hardy boys is better. THEY've got two slueths, and they have motercycles, and moterboats, and they don't always get tied up in shacks! They get tied up all over the place! In caves, abandoned mine shafts, haunted houses, snowed-out cabins in the woods, all over the place!)
I have all the Harry Potter books and movies, mainly because when I was young and innocent (HA!) and silly I loved HP. But now I dislike it. I admire J. K. Rowlings ability to capture an audience, and how scholarly she is. (Have you read up on Hippogriphs lately? It's really fascinating! A mix between two creatures who are forever mortal enemies.. it's impossible, but so fascinating, all the same!) I feel if she wrote something for an older, more mature audience, I'd enjoy that better.
You don't like the Lord of the Rings, one of the best fantasy series ever! How could you? Unlike Eragon, Harry Potter, and the Dark is Rising, the Lord of the Rings, while for an older audeince, is a much darker, more serious sort of book, while still holding onto the light-hearted gaity of the Shire, and all the funny little Hobbits. The writing style and story-telling is fantastic!
But then again.. this is coming from a girl who just LOVED 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea because of the amazing details and ideas surrounding it. If you don't like the detailed books, like Jules Verne and the Last Unicorn, you'd probobly not enjoy a lot of the books I'd reccomend.
I've heard of Wolf Brother, never actually read it, though. Love the Artemis Fowl series by Eion Colfer, though.

Don't get me wrong, Stormy. Really, I love detailed books... Love them. But then, Lord Of The Rings, I personally think, has just too much detail.... I can't comprehend it all. Harry Potter is fine with me, as is the Wheel of Time (though that series is really for adults; albeit, I do get my newfound words from there, plenty of 'em).
So, yeah. I'm pretty naive. So sad.

Oh, there are some books I just LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE! Tale of Desperaux, The Clique, Harry Potter... Miraculously, you want to know something? I LOVE reading, but I hate books. I've read over 700 BOOKS in my life and so now there really isn't anything with a bunch of PIZZAZ in it...

I read the Hobbit when I was about seven.. I've always loved detailed books, and just the idea of the Lord of the Rings is amazing. I also love the poetry in it. And Tolkien's fantastic ideas on elves...
Harry Potter isn't very detailed, and though I admire the author's writing skills, I just don't like the plot. Wheel of Time, I've wanted to read, but never got around to it. I also really like the Diskworld series, by Terry Pratchett.
I love books. Especially long books, about history and mythology, like the Oddessy, and the Aneid. Fantasy, mystery and science fiction are also wonderful genres, of course.
But, alack, here in Stoughten Wisconsin, it seems as if NOBODY likes books. At least, nobody my age. They read books because they have to, in school. And they aren't that good of readers anyway, since they learned whole letter reading, instead of the phonix, like all good little children should.(The last sentence was a joke, in case you haven't caught on by now) They're interested in sports, TV, and, in the girl's cases, make-up fashion and boys. I can't wait to get outta here... go live in the north-west, Washington state, maybe, or perhaps Oregon. Where the people don't act as if they want to shoot you.
But that's off-topic.

You did not just tell that to me, Smiley. You did not just tell that to me. Time for a quote. 83 'I'll batchslap you, shetbag!' -does so- Absolutely sensational. :U I read Lord of the Rings when I was about.. 10, it lost my interest. I hated 20000 leagues, aswell, when I was 10. Later this year.. (About June, maybe?) I reread 20000 leagues and loved it. I'll have to go look for the LOTR books.
I think the Eargon movie stunck. I really don't want to see any of the Oceans movies; they sound kinda boring. ------- -nitpick mode- I LOVED THE EARGON MOVIE. :U Don't chu know how awesome it was when they removed Mr. Pat's left ear? AWESOMEEEEEEEE. -shot- -twitch- Criminals finding an awesome way to break in that you don't know until the near end~ Not awesome? -pulls out fanboy club and clobbers you- -hides you in the closet- 83>
