;; prologue [/b] “Please, Kerosene, I’m begging! I’m your alpha, you have to follow my orders!” Nami shuddered through the tears welling in her eyes, which began falling like rain as she tried to pull off a look of rage, but soon failed miserably when she was forced to smile at the four newborn pups at her side. Kerosene snarled at Nami in disgust with her orange tail waving in the air, glaring at the pups with fiery brown eyes as if they were the devil, sent to set a curse upon her and their pack. “Nami, do you realize how difficult it is to keep secrets from Taku – now don’t you dare interrupt me! You were supposed to fall for him, why did you have to be foolish and go off to that other pack and fall for – for that.” Kerosene could barely utter the name as it burned her lips to even think of it. “Kerosene,” Nami began, closing her eyes as she tried to remain self-control from either sobbing hysterically or screaming out in rage. “Taku loves me, he thought I loved him but now you know I don’t. I’m not even going to take care of the pups, I’ve gotten Denali to do it for me – she just lost Cowin and the six pups that were stillborn! Please, Kerosene, don’t hurt me and so many others.” Nami was pleading, but she seemed to have worked Kerosene to advantage. Kerosene sighed, closing her eyes as she thought about. Several moments passed, and then she spoke in a grave voice. “Alright, Nami, but if Taku finds out it won’t be because I told him, and mark my words he will find out someday. Just – don’t pretend you’re their mother.” Nami rushed over to Kerosene and began giving her great licks furiously while Kerosene smiled at Nami’s jubilance, so much to where the alpha couldn’t contain herself and had been forced to show affection towards the Apothecary. Nami looked at her four pups, two of each gender, and couldn’t help but smile even wider. Of course, these pups had been born illegally, but Nami would prevent their death as long as possible. [ oh, and FYI, this is only 1/3 of the prologue. I'm also going to write Denali's point of view with her brother on what she's lost, and the omega, unfortunately, becoming an omega. Yes, I know it's incredibly incredibly rough, but I wrote most of it at midnight last night! ][/size]

- continued -
Denali was slumped and her head rested wearily on her paws as her ribs remained visible, sighing heavily as two of the four pups Nami had previously given birth to were by her side, causing Denali to bite back tears and stop her trembling. “What’s wrong?” Her brother, Tundra, asked as he entered the nursery, or oasis, as they called it, and licked Denali’s cheek. She looked up at him and traitor tears escaped her eyes and welled over the eyelids she had tried to block them off with. The memory of Cowin and her six stillborn pups still remained, and Tundra comforted her on the memory of losing so much. Her best mates, who also happened to be sisters, were also helping her through the pain. Cybele and Desna were always busy with their jobs, however, and Denali was left alone with the pups that couldn’t talk. As one older one, Jino, grew up Denali had found herself more and more fond of him. He, too, had lost practically everything. A father and his four siblings had died together in the cold snow-fall, or winter, that had betrayed them so. “Forget Cowin, Denali, think about these new pups that you have been bestowed with. Who are the parents?” Tundra asked, and Denali pondered the thought. Surely everyone could seek to believe Denali had found a new mate, and she’d had pups of her own, but her own brother would think not. “They passed, Tundra, I’m the only thing these two have left. Nami told me the names, since she or Taku must name them, and now I am their caretaker like the rest.” She yawned, sighing. Suddenly a small shape appeared behind her, and the shy little thing actually made Denali smile. “Hello, Jino, show Tundra the manners you’ve recently learned.” Jino smiled and bowed his head, being sure to show Tundra respect as the wolf was superior to him. “Greetings, Tundra, I hope you are having a nice time on this dreadful day.” Tundra smiled, nodding at the ‘dreadful’ part. Wolves were taught not to lie, unless told or to other packs, and this day was particularly horrid.. “Very good, Jino, have you been learning much with Denali?” “Oh, yes, Denali is an acceptable and superb at teaching me the things I need to know, such as wolf laws and mannerism.” Tundra nodded and winked at Denali before puffing out his chest and making his voice loud and booming. “So, Jino, what must a pup go through to decide their place in this pack?” Jino, caught by surprise, jumped and shuddered a bit before speaking. He puffed out his chest as well, showing he would not be toyed with. “A puppy must go through tests given by the other members of the pack, and their final test will be received by the alpha, beta or gamma, sir!” Tundra nodded to the both of them and smiled before dismissing himself, and Jino sighed, his tail and ears drooping. “What’s wrong, Jino?” Denali asked as she pulled the pup close and licked his right ear with her long, pink tongue. Rhythmic strokes seemed to calm Jino and make him weary, for he was soon opening up to the Aufpasser. “I didn’t do it right – tired…” His voice trailed off and Denali smiled, tucking him close to her. “You did fine, darling, just rest now.” And Jino fell asleep.
Talii sighed, shaking his head. He loathed being the omega, even though Taku constantly told him he should be playful to cheer up the pack when they’re down. Talii wished to be a subordinate, but his father had utterly ruined everything when the little pup had been told to go pick something up from the forest, and been kidnapped before being forced to spill all secrets he knew about Rain-pack to Mist-pack, leaving them partially weak and defenseless. “I hate this life.” He muttered time and time again, but this time was different. He had just admitted his love for Desna, the Spaher, and she had turned him down. After begging, she had just walked away and left many laughing at him continuously. He cursed under his breath and decided to go visit the pups. When he saw the two newborns, named Paint and Ty, he gasped and his eyes widened. Denali asked what was wrong, but he shook his head. “Denali, where did you get these?” He asked, looking at the two’s weakly opened eyes. They both had dark green eyes, and Talii was instantly reminded of someone. They were both Great Plains wolves, but they reminded him of someone. He saw the face of Nami when he glanced at Paint, but Ty looked nothing like Taku. “I received them from Nami, she said they had been found and that I was to care for them.” Of course, this was an utter lie, but Talii was too imprudent to know left from right, let alone this incredible secret. Talii rushed out, and Denali shrugged. He ran to the Alpha’s den and skidded to a halt in front, clearing his throat. “Enter.” Taku growled, probably knowing it was Talii by the scent. “What do you want, Talii? We’re busy.” Nami and Taku were sitting in front of each other, speaking in hushed tones. As usual, Nami seemed calm and motionless whilst Taku seemed angry and aggravated. Talii realized with a jolt that Nami was probably telling Taku what she had done, but maybe Nami hadn’t done it in the first place. Wait – now he was confusing himself, an omega like him shouldn’t be thinking that much. He took a deep breath, and found it was still high and squeaky with anxiety. “Erm, Nami? May I speak with you alone a moment, it’s urgent.” Nami sighed and nodded to Taku, using that ‘speaking with the eyes’ trick of theirs. She followed Talii and sighed as they stopped at the water sanctuary, the most peaceful place in all of camp. “What do you want, Talii? He was serious, we really are busy.” Talii smiled coyly and nodded to her, signaling it would be short. “Now, Nami, I was wondering something. Why would you like to Denali, Taku, and possibly Kerosene by saying that Paint and Ty weren’t your pups?” Nami felt panic rise inside her, but her expression remained the same. “I don’t know what you’re talking about, Talii. I am in love with Taku, and we do not wish to have pups.” Talii smiled, nodding. “Alright then, Nami, if you won’t admit to that maybe you’ll admit to this: why does Paint have your face, whilst Ty has Brooks’ face and not Taku's face?” Nami tensed and her eyes widened, but she desperately tried to remain calm. “B – Brooks? I’m afraid I d – don’t know w – what you mean.” Talii stared at her, rolling his eyes as she wouldn’t give up. Talii, however, knew that he was winning this battle. An omega over an alpha was almost impossible. “Give it up, Nami! I know you, the female Rain-pack alpha, fell for Brooks, the male Thunder-pack alpha. How could you do this to us?” Nami sighed and closed her eyes, whispering now. “The same reason you would do anything for Desna, but she doesn’t love you back. Brooks did love me back, and I do regret having my pups, but they’ll never know and as far as this goes, no one else will.” She stared at him coldly for a moment before walking off, and Talii felt frozen to the spot, as if he’d been hypnotized by her beauty to refrain telling anyone this. Hmm.. interesting.
I started writing a four-part wolf story one time, but the plot kinda sucked. Especially since I had no idea what to do with it. But I like the idea. Only I don't like how they're called Lightning-pack, Rain-pack, so on. In fact, I don't like there being 'pack' in it at all. Why not just a name? Rushing waters, or something? In my story, the pack was the Broken Dreams pack(Though there were four others, where the characters came from: Galeside, Open Moon, Drifter's Edge, and Kilkowklow.), though it was always called Broken Dreams, or we are the wolves of Broken Dreams. I dunno.. it just seems a bit too warrior-ish to have pack in the name.
Oh, and by the way, I LOVE wolf role-plays, when they're literate. I love wolves. They're the best thing EVER next to cats(And though I used to be a dog person, I never was that much, but I still love wolves. They're the coolest wild animal there is, next to bats!)

Nope, I came up with better ideas (: Falling Rain is now - Luminous Incandesce ( it means, basically, glowing flame ) Striking Lightning is now - Aphotic Ecliipse ( it means dark, well you know what an eclipse is ) Booming Thunder is now - Sublunary Abyss (basically like a terrestrial deep hole, i think...i forgot, but it's something like that :] ) Ominous Mist is now - Inauspicious Adumbrate ( basically ominous mist, just bigger words (: )
Huh, if I change this up a bit, it might become a fascinating story.
And I just got an idea. Instead of making it like warriors and having just four individual packs, I think I'll make the East Land and the West Land, something like that. Two on each side, so it's not like: oh, look, the four Clans!

Cool.
Oh.. and by the way, Sublunary Abyss would basically mean earth-bound, deep dark hole. So earthly hole.

Oh, I have an idea. Tell me, does this sound too much like warriors?
Well, it's wolves for one. Two, the ranks are practically COMPLETELY different. There are elders, warriors, apprentices, medicine cat's, deputies and leaders. But what Clan-things-stories DON'T have those? I mean, the rest of the stuff warriors would NEVER have. There is the Eastland and the Westland. Every two moon rotations ( months ) the two alphas from each pack take: Their betas Their gammas Their healer And ONE cat that the two alphas agreed upon. It's KIND of like a gathering, but not. Basically it's just so they can meet to talk about what's going on, but nothing small to reveal a lot. Does that sound too much like a gathering? And EVERY place has to have a heaven, so I created: Celestial Moira. It means Heavenly Fate. Any cat ( except omegas ) can hear these ancestors, but they don't recognize the voice. If you EVER see or hear one of them, it means you are about to die. So, really, does THAT sound too much like warriors?
Help me (:

First of all.... to Frosty in jail.... I LAUGH IN YOUR GENERAL DIRECTION! YOUR MOTHER WAS A HAMPSTER AND YOUR FATHER SMELT OF ELDERBERRIES! -Watches too much Monty Python-(Even though the actual quote is I fart in your general direction, but that sounded too cras to come from ME. -Sophisticated smile-)
Second, to Smiley in in-need-of-help land... The gathering part sounded too much like warriors. How about something like this...(Note: this is from my own story. Smiley(And only Smiley, mind. So keep your dirty, sticky little paws OFF) is welcome to use the idea, but please don't copy my exact words.)
'There was a place where all the packs met whenever the stars fell from the heavens. It was a high rise of ground in the Man-land, where the wolves met to talk and watch the stars. The alphas would exchange news, and share it later with their packs. The pups made friends with other pups, and they would tussle together, or race up and down the hill till they were too tired to do anything but to flop down in a bundle beside their mothers. The adolescents also met up with old friends here, and many a romantic night was shared between boy and girl from different packs. Of course, this was a forbidden ritual, but that never stopped them, and only the strictest elders bothered to contradict their actions. After all, hadn't they done the same, in their youth? The place where they met had no name, except for Multistory Periphery, or high edge. Mostly, though, it was called Green Hill, or Star-gazer place.
Not really a gathering, just a friendly get-together. Oh, and in case you're wondering... The time when stars fell from the heavens was usually late July or August, and often in January or February, as well. So they had 'gatherings' about twice a year. Also, the Man-place was basically no-man's zone. A strip of territory so close to the humans that nobody wanted it for their hunting grounds, so it was agreed to be a neutral zone.

Hmmm...I'm trying to think of something that happens in REAL life to where I could just transfer that idea to a gathering idea. I like your idea, but I don't want to use it for two reasons: 1. it isn't mine (: 2. maybe just because it's not my idea, but it doesn't seem to completely fit in with my story ):
Ermm...hmmm...i'm thinking, like when a bunch of people get together and such. Maybe... ( the only thing I'm using from your thing ) two 'gatherings' ( trust me, i'll find a much bigger word for it ) every year, but for the first gathering: The alpha male from one pack in WESTland goes to speak with the alpha female in EASTland. And vice versa. I'll come up with a reason why this is for later. And that's how Nami would've gotten the chance to fall for Brooks. And then, in the NEXT 'gathering' the alpha female of westland talks to the other alpha male in eastland, and vice versa. But, since these are so special, I had an idea. One pup must be taken from each pack every time, to show a sign of peace and strain from attack as much as possible.

NO! EVEN BETTER! Violence.
I was just on thesaurus.com, one of my new favorite websites (: This is NOTHING like warriors. There are three gatherings a year. The first one is in winter-spring ( the exact day in between ) for Aphotic Eclipse and Inauspicious Adumbrate. The second was is summer-autumn ( you get it ) where Sublunary Abyss and Luminous Incandesce meet. Then, at the third is the giant enchilada. The first two, the alphas choose three other wolves to bring along. Usually it is a pup to show peace, a beta to show strength, and the apothecary to show manners. But, in the third no one except the eight alphas go. And that's when all goes wrong for the year. It is on the very last day of the year, December 31 ( or, a different way to put it for them, some big words meaning last event ) And that's when the eight discuss. There are never allowed to be more than 27 wolves when the new year begins. So, say that Sublunary Abyss has 30 wolves. Well, the other six alphas will help THOSE two alphas decide... Help them decide five wolves to kill. And the wolves cannot object. Yess, gooodd! And then, Paint, who is Nami's daughter can be decided to be killed either at the end of the first or the second. Nami objected, but she lost. Before Paint is killed, Nami admits to everything and Paint runs.
