ooc; I believe you can. We need to start Roleplaying somehow.
ic; Bleak sunlight filtered through the den, mentally reminding the deputy of fixing the sparse holes in the warrior's den. Her jaws parted slightly, the fresh tang of dew filtering her lungs as she exhaled softly. Her muscles felt as though they had sleeping for an eternity-and-she thought as she focused her eyes to the bright sunlight-she probably had. The clan was quiet appart from occasionally shifting and mews from her clanmates. It was time for patrols, she mentally thought as she pranced out of the den, grooming herself with her sandpaper tongue as she looked around. Who was alive enough around here for Dawn Patrol?

.::Cheetahpaw::. Cheetah has been lying in the soft moss of his bed, staring outside of the apprentices' den with growing boredom. Boulderclan had gone downhill, boring with nothing to do lately. Feeling like being in a foul mood, the black-splotched apprentice licked his lips, stretching each paw in turn to get rid of the sleepiness in his paws. Ears pricked at the sound of some cat leaving its den, and he shot up to his paws, enthusiastically dashing out to spot Mintleaf almost immediately. Gold specked eyes glinting mischeviously, he crouched down, bringing one paw after another ahead of him as he stealthily approached Mintlead. Rocking his haunches from side to side, he sprang, landing on the deputy's back. "Got'cha!" So, he was an ill-tempered cat. Didn't mean he couldn't have some fun.
.::Coldheart::. The black-and-white tom stretched in the warriors' den unhappily, grumbling something uncomprehendable under his breath. He was about to lie back down with his nose tucked back under his tail, but he felt restless, so decided against it. Yawning briefly, Coldheart got up halfheartedly, relunctant to leave the den. But he had to get out sometime, right? Heaving himself out of the den, he parted his jaws to drink in the fresh scents of the camp, relishing the moment only moments before spotting Cheetpaw. Mischevious tyke, he thought bitterly, merely watching the apprentice leap on the deputy.

.:Coldbreath:. Coldbreath was already awake, he had been up just at the crack of dawn. He trotted back into camp, a rather scrawney rabbit dangling from his jaws. It had been the best he could find - in Boulderclan the rule was to get whatever you could or else go hungry. None of the Boulderclan cats were strangers to hunger, seeing as they starved nearly every winter but it was always nicer to have at least a half full belly than a completely empty one. He made towards the fresh-kill pile but then turned on his paws and headed over to the warriors den, the rabbit had been sitting in his starving jaws for over ten mintues - he could not give it up that easily. As he ate, feeling the stringy muscle stick and pull in his crooked teeth he watched Coldheart from the corner of his eye. It looked like Coldheart was doing the same thing. With a small smirk Coldbreath made a big show of digging into his prey, savouring his early meal loudly and very visually. Once he had finished he got up, leaving the bones to make a new ornament in the camp and moved to a warmer spot to groom himself. By doing this he got a full view of the camp and everyone in it...which did not include Hawkstar. This was great news for him as Hawkstar and himself were not best of friends but it was bad - how were they to go to the gathering? He looked up at Mintleaf, would she take them? It had never been heard of - a deputy taking his clan to the gathering but then...everyone knew that Boulderclan could do anything if they so wished. The questions rolled around his mouth but stayed inside - Mintleaf would know too, and if she felt it needed answering - she would answer it.

Perhaps her senses were bleak in the early morning. Perhaps she had not expected to be assulted by an apprentice at the crack of dawn.
The momentary pause, she scorned herself, would have killed her if the attacker showed any REAL harm. She relaxed, her hackles flattening as she recognised the scent of Cheetahpaw. She allowed herself to relax...
In one fluid motion her muscles sprungs straight up and bucked like a great wave across her back, with enough force to send any apprentice who thought that the Deputy wasn't up for playing games flying. She fixed her square gaze on the apprentice, tail twitching scornfully as she loomed over him.
"With that much energy, you should be able to bring plenty of prey for the camp." she mewed slowly, prolonging every word. "Although if I did end up taking you, you'd probably only cause mischief. Perhaps today would be a good day for you to hang around camp. There's plenty of things to do, especially with the gathering approaching." her tone was even, as though she was merely pondering out loud. The words were a warning, however. She never was one for firm punishment nor one for being pounced on in the morning. She would probably end up taking the fiesty little rabbit out anyhow.
She noticed Coldbreath returning, her gaze not searching but even as she watched the warrior devour the morsel. Slight annoyance pricked at her; eating so early before the clan had not even waken with a full day ahead. Surely he should have left it for those incapable of caring for themselves? Her eyes wandered briefly to the Medicine Den, the Nursery, and the Elder's Den.
She would probably have to combine a patrol. Why had she slept like a drunk badger last night and not organized this all beforehand?
"Coldbreath!" she meowed, noticing the stirring Coldheart. "And Coldheart. We need our Dawn Patrol out. Now. You two shall re-mark our borders and keep watch for signs of trouble. Try to hunt on the way back." she looked at the small imprint on the earth where prey lay.

.:Coldbreath:. "We're not going to the gathering then" he retorted loudly, so she could hear him very clearly. Coldbreath wasn't an openly disrespectful cat...of the leader. You would have to have feathers for a brain to insult Hawkstar openly, or even privately. But Mintleaf was different - true she was still the most important cat around as Hawkstar had taken seriously ill and could no longer speak comprehensively but he was not going to let a female warrior of almost the same rank as him going to boss him around. "Because - if you haven't noticed it's full moon" he drawled on, fully aware that nearly every cats eyes were turned his way. "But of course you wouldn't have." He stopped short, his breath suddenly coming out in staccato rasps. He had gone too far. Blinking smoothly, he stared right back at Mintleaf, his flanks heaving but his shoulders square.

"I have, indeed, noticed." replied Mintleaf, taking the challenge and meeting the warrior's gaze squarly, tense, looming, and angry. SHE COULD NOT TANTRUM. She was deputy of the clan. If Coldbreath was deliberately trying to make a fool out of her, she would keep her head high. She wouldn't take the bait. "And perhaps you will be invited to attend next time if you prove you won't dishonor Boulderclan with your smart words." Her fur was flat but hostility flared in her eyes. "Or perhaps you consider yourself incapable of leading the patrol...?" she prompted, unable to resist returning a stream of critisim. Rude dirt bag, that Coldbreath.

.:Coldbreath:. "Oh yes...I'm capable" he said lightly, searching for a clever remark to say back. "But I was wondering if you were capable to take Boulderclan to the gathering. We don't want the other clans to know how unordered and shabby we are" he smirked, blinking his hooded lips slowly. He did not mind talking about Boulderclan in this way. Sometimes he felt as if he was a part of it, although this never bothered him - just helped him as it had done in this situation. "So we're not going to the gathering then - suit yourself" he said, his voice betrayed no emotion as all Boulderclan cats were trained to do. "Come on Coldheart, she told us we have to go" he said loudly and very scornfully, making sure that Mintleaf could catch his words.

Cursetwister woke at the raised voices. She twitched her tail, annoyed at the way voices were raised. She Deserved her rest, and she would fix things and then go back to sleep. She felt some cruel irony somewhere, but couldn't see where. "What are you mouse-brains doing? Mintleaf didn't do anything to you, she probably has alot on her mind, with how Hawkstar is right now. You could have some empathy! She was thrashing her tail from side to side with irritation. Mintleaf was one of the only cats she showed respect to.

Jaypaw was roused from his snoozeing by the sound of his mentor shouting. No suprises there. He stuffed moss into his ears and rolled over again, attempting to catch forty more winks. Or eighty if possible. He rolled onto his feet. No good. The cats outside were bickering too hard. He padded outside before a Warrior sense twinged and he lookd up at the sky. Nearly full moon - nope, Coldbreath had just said it. He felt he'd probably back up his mentor, and, blinking as the hue of his eyes slowly lightened he spoke up. "Yes. Get some respect." He meowed, going to stand by his mentor, ignoring how much of a hipocrit he was being, speaking to a Warrior in that way.

.::Cheetahpaw::. "Sorry, Mintleaf, won't happen again," Cheetahpaw mewed hastily, scrambling up to his paws quickly to shake himself off after being thrown off of his deputy's back. The black-splotched furred apprentice turned his head to Coldheart and Coldbreath in turn, ears twitching. He wanted to go with them, too! Not catch some measly fresh-kill; it wasn't as if there was enough out there, anyway. Sourly looking over at Mintleaf, he gave himself a quick lick on the chest. "I want to go with them, too," he finally piped up. Starting to circle around Mintleaf restlessly, he soon stopped in front of her, looking up expectantly. "C'mon." But another thought occured to him. "Yeah, aren't we going to the Gathering? If so, I want to come!" he persisted. He mentally thought that he was sounding like a fractious kit, but he didn't mind. He hadn't been to a Gathering yet, and from what he had heard, it was great sounding.
.::Coldheart::. Coldheart gave Coldbreath a resentful look, sniffing. "I really have to go with him?" He purposely tried to sound scornful, wrapping his tail around his paws. However, his practical rival did make a point. Were they even going to the Gathering? If so, he wanted to go, Coldbreath or not. "And I'm coming, whether you like it or not." Lifting his chin, he glared defiance at Mintleaf, daring her to refuse. He gave Cheetahpaw a look, raising a brow at the annoying cat. A loyal, ill-tempered, kittypet hating apprentice. A cat he would like to mentor; and not like to. He had qualities he liked, and others he didn't. Washing one ear slowly, he glowered at Coldbreath inconspicuously. Scum.

Ivypaw sat up and watched Cheetawpaw being scolded but Mintleaf *Ha serves him right!* How long has she been sleeping here. Stiffly she got up and stretched, letting her claws scrape against the rock. She glanced over at the fresh-kill pile. Only a couple of measly little scraps. She'd have to wait and let teh elders and kits feed first. Instead she kept herself busy licking her pelt, waiting for a cat to come talk to her...

.:Oakpaw:. The brown she-cat woke up with a jolt."Huh where am-"She cut of her sentence and noticed she was back in camp."And I almost had that vole too!"She hissed to herself and staggered to her paws and padded out of the den."Stupid apprentices not waking me up at Sunrise but letting me sleep to Sun down."She glanced up at the sky and noticed the full moon."Where's Hawkstar isn't she gonna announce the cats going to the gathering."She complained to herself and noticed some of the warriors and apprentice were already up."I'll get back at him."She mewed to herself and glared at Cheetahpaw for not waking her up when he woke up.Sitting down she gave herself a long lick to clean herself and then glanced around for something to do. ooc; sorry very short but I couldn't think of anything.
Ivypaw watched the unexpecting apprentice. She got down into a hunting crouch and pounced on Oakpaw. Her claws sheathed of course. She waited for the appretnice to react. She had to keep up her trouble maker reputation.

Oakpaw felt something on her.Yowling she twisted around and hit Ivypaw with her back legs onto the ground.Jumping to her paws she hissed noticing it was just her den-mate.Her fur still bristling she hissed at her "Don't take what I do best."Her tail lashed around angerily but ofcourse she could teach that soft little apprentice how a real warrior fights.Bending down as in defeat she pounced onto Ivypaw rolling her down to her belly with Oakpaw pinning her down to the ground.
