Moongaze licked Sunset on both ears back, lovingly drawing his long tongue across her furry pistons. "Not yet - but she will." Like Onionpaw he worked out the maths in his head, but unlike the apprentice took only a split second to do this. "I think all the apprentices will be able to do something." He bent closer to his mate, so only she could hear. "Hopefully she won't get stuck with Fishing." As he looked at the ginger tabby he remembered when they had first met when they were both apprentices - when he had started flirting with her on the night of her vigil and that rainy day when he had asked her to be his mate. They all seemed long ago now, so long ago but still Moongaze had etched them into his memory, never wanting to let them go. "So Maplepaw" he mewed again, jerking back into reality. "What's it to be?"

ooc - fudgey, I know you had it in best interests...but too late. That last post with Otterfur? The worse thing you could've done. Cinderkit is so attached to Otterfur, that just tempted her into following the she-cat. Too late, you shan't change my mind xD 'Cides, that's the only kit Snow and Earffy haven't seen in foever shizzle. BUWAHAHAHGASKhfdlkjshdaklfhjdskjhfkjadhs

Maplepaw looked down at her cream colored paws in consternation. "Only fishing and tree-climbing left now..." she bit her lip as her amber eyes roved across the ground as if she would find her answer there. After a moment she said "Well, the only time I've ever /really/ climbed a tree was when the bear-" she winced slgithly, took a deep breath and then glossed over the next few words that she really didn't want to say "that is- when I had to get away from the bear." eager to change the subject, she mewed "I've never been fishing before, and I don't know how good I'd be at it- it seems awfully hard." then, with a crooked smile paticular to herself when faced with a challenge she said, "but I like a good challenge." her spunk was showing through, and it hadn't for what seemed like a long time- well, two moons to be precise. "So, really wherever I can serve my clan best." she said earnestly, meeting her mentors gaze. She kind of got the impression he wanted her to say flat out what she wanted to do, but she what she wanted to do was what would be most helpfull to Sunclan.

What had happened at least two moons ago was fairly vivid in his mind's eye. That bear attack was likely to never be forgotten, no matter how hard he were to try. Maybe he could shove it into the deepest depths of his thoughts, into the nooks and crannies that resided there. He was fairly sure he would be able to do at least that -- not entirely forget the deaths and casualties, but at least keep them locked up. If he ever had the chance at that, at least. The golden tabby tom raised his large head, liquid gold-and-brown eyes roving around the camps innards in earnest, the ears atop his cranium swiveling to and fro in frenetic trembles. Alot seemed to be going in lately, like the Apprentice Contest that was to happen. And Littlewind. How could he forget his dearest beloved? She was pregnant, was she not, the kits due sometime this week or so? Lionmane frowned, his light-coloured whiskers aquiver in concentration. Familiar pawsteps reached his ears, and the yellow pistons swerved backwards. Naturally, he knew Bearface's pawfalls anywhere, could locate him easily. The rich chocolate brown tom's steps were heavy, which wasn't at all a surprise. Turning his head slowly, the older male smiled with exultation. "Good to see you, brother!" he meowed conversationally. He was giving his brother an innocent look, though he knew that the bear-faced cat wouldn't fall for it. Ever since he had missed that fight with the bear, finding his clanmates at the last second, he had grown rather grumpy; more so than usual. But he had grown accustomed to it. No biggy. "You do know your mate has just painfully delivered your kits without you to witness it or comfort her, right?" the more heavily-built tom muttered, eyeing Lionmane for a reaction of any sort. The golden, light-brown streaked cat blinked once, a dismayed expression making its way through. "You got to be kidding me!" Ears were laid back against his skull in guilt. Oops. So much for being there for the she-cat. "Off I go, then..." Gnawing on his lower lip, he pelted off for the nursery, a low sigh from his brother heard before the brown male followed in hot pursuit. Entering the nursery slowly, Lionmane's gaze swept through the interior, zeroing in on Littlewind and the three tiny kits. A small, sheepish smile made its way across his face, and he padded forward, Bearface hovering outside the entrance to watch. The golden warrior lowered himself, getting a closer look at the tiny kits that he had helped produce. Hoping to find a way out of a scolding that he was sure he would get, he mewed a, "They sure look healthy, huh?"

;;littlewind Littlewind jumped up in shock, awakening from her small nap. She nearly ran over to Lionmane, but her kits beside her prevented her and her ears flattened against her skull in pain as she shut her eyes. "Lionmane! Wait - no. Shouldn't have done that, shouldn't have done that...ow." She said, laying her head against the ground and breathing in and out, finally calming down. She smiled weakly, curling up to try and rid some of the pain, but not disturb the hungry kits at her side. "I'm sorry I delivered my kits without you, where were you?" She asked, showing no signs that she was angry - just upset.

ooc// Once the kitties get a bit older, may I make a profile for Emeraldkit? Also..which picture would you like her to be described as? I tried to find brown and silver... Personally I like the first one. The second one looks kinda male-ish, but it reminded me of Littlewind's picture, because her ears have those tuffs of fur on them don't they?

Moongaze looked proudly at Maplepaw, she was defiantly a humble cat alright. In fact …if anything he suddenly began to feel unselfish and rude, seeing the error of all his ways in the past. By Starclan - this cat was something. ”Fishing eh” he breathed, feeling slightly groggy. ”Well, that’s sorted then! It doesn’t seem like Whitepaw’s around so…” Moongaze looked enquiringly at Skystar, waiting for the signal to go. As soon as Maplepaw had said the word ‘fishing’ the whole clan’s aura had suddenly switched from expectant and unhurried to tense and nervous. Now they were going - the Contest was about to begin! None of the cats knew what it was going to be like, as none of them had ever done it before. Would there be cheating? Or would it be clean? Would it run smoothly? Or would there be arguments? Would everyone be alright? Or would there be casualties? No -one knew, but everyone was expecting, out of the corner of his eye Moongaze saw Onionpaw shifting from foot to foot, eyes darting between Sandfire and Skystar. Otterfur padded up to him on his other side, gripping the turf tightly with her claws. The mud coloured she-cat had no apprentice but still wanted to see what was going on. They all did.

Skystar nodded at them and then yowled "SunClan time to head toward the apprentices contest!"He then jumped over toward the entrance and lead the way out with the mentors, apprentices, and warriors.I hope we do well and the apprentices as well.He thought to himself but soon dissmissed the thought and kept on going.
Sunset heard the yowl and mewed "Okay Pinepaw remember you will be doing seeking okay? That means get into the smallest thing you can squeeze into and don't make a sound. You should be the best there okay."She then flicked her tail on the new apprentice and then padded beside Moongaze.

”Stay here” Otterfur mewed playfully at Cinderkit, licking her on the head as if she was her own kit. Oh - how she wanted her to be. Sometime when she was an apprentice, Otterfur would take Cinderkit to the lakes to learn to swim and catch fish. These were not traditions practiced in Sunclan, but Otterfur { possibly because of her Lakeclan roots, possibly because of her odd and rather different nature } was very good at both of these things, and even tried to eat as many fish as she could to keep her fur sleek and oily. Some cats didn’t like the taste of fish …and Otterfur found herself hoping that Cinderkit did. It would feel awkward if she wasn’t. Preoccupied, Otterfur didn’t notice the angry and determined expression on Cinderkit’s face, which was why she didn’t suspect the kit of doing anything. A big mistake.

She was sorry? Sorry for delivering their three beautiful kits without him? In his point of view, Littlewind got it all wrong, and he, Lionmane, should be the one who was uttering the apology. Flattening his ears, he idly flicked his tail with a grimace. "Oh, Littlewind, you shouldn't be the one whose sorry. You couldn't help it; maybe if I was more attuned to the fact that you were pregnant and nearing the labouring mark, I would have witnessed it. I should be the one saying sorry." Licking her cheek in consolation, the golden warrior sighed inwardly. Her question of "Where were you?" was simple enough to answer. "Well, you see, I guess I was really in a reverie and regressing. So, in return, you just slipped out of my mind for a fraction of a minute, or something like that... I know I shouldn't have. I hope you can forgive me." Clearing his throat, he nosed Windkit gently, the nearest one to him and the one who looked most alike to himself. The little one mewled weakly, ignoring his father almost deliberately and nuzzling closer into Littlewind's warm belly.

Littlewind - does this mean i'm mousebrained? Littlewind chortled and rolled her eyes, shaking her head. "No, I'm sorry, Lionmane. I hate you, Bearface and I are plotting to slaughter you and feed you to LakeClan - of course I forgive you, mousebrain." She flicked her paw across his head with a smile. "Just don't do it again, every second of your life should revolve around me, shouldn't it?" Suddenly she winced as Shadowkit began clawing at her blindily, trying to find her stomach. "Stop that!" She hissed and pushed him towards her belly with her tail, laying her head down in exhaustion. Littlewind was tired and weary, but she wanted to spend every moment she could with Lionmane. "Lay by me." She ordered, more of a demand than a request.
