"Alright, alright. I won't leave your side ever again so I don't give you an excuse to actually plot a murder for me with Bearface. I swear on StarClan." Raising a paw solemnly, he snickered, ruining the meant-to-be serious moment. Though he did mean it; every moment away from his mate was pretty much unbearable. He watched with amusement at Shadowkit's attempt to find the shelter of Littlewind's stomach, and her reaction to his actions. His face splitting in to a grin, he repositioned himself by her side as she demanded, resting his head against her shoulder. "No need to be so pushy." Suddenly remembering his brother's presence lingering outside the nursery, Lionmane's gaze flickered to the entryway, exactly when Bearface poked his muzzle through to see what was up. "You don't have to stay now, brother. You can leave if you really want to." The chocolate brown tom's only reply was a brief nod of acknowledgement, and the larger warrior backed up and out of sight. Probably to go off hunting or to sit around rock-still like he often did. He desperately needed a hobby of some sort.

Littlewind - so you really think... Littlewind swallowed nothing, more just to keep herself awake. She frowned and looked up at Lionmane with sad eyes. "I'm sorry, I'm just exhausted...but I don't want to leave you to go to sleep." She looked up at him and positioned herself to where she was looking directly at him. He was so handsome, so perfect...a question came across her mind again. "What if the kits don't like me? I mean, you're funny and - I don't know." She shook her head.

"Again with the sorry. I didn't mean it offensively." Licking her cheek affectionately, the warrior eyed her sullenly, beginning to frown himself at accusation she was giving to herself. Her remark made his shake his mane of fur in irritation. How long would it take for him to make sure she remembered she would be a great mother, and her kits would like her. Littlewind was such a pessimist. "Love. Listen to what you're saying. Doesn't that sound a touch ludicrous? They're your kits; they'll like you now matter what, just like you will in return." Nuzzling her neck, he smiled warmly. "So there's no need to get all negative, all right?"

ooc - of course you did xD
bic - Littlewind laughed and looked up at him, shaking her head. "They'll hate me when they compare me to you. They'll be thinking 'Gee, why did dad fall for mom? I mean, he's so much more perfect!' Kits don't have the capability to lie. She breathed heavily and thought, looking out of the nursery with a frown on her face. "Things are changing, Lionmane, and I don't like it. The world has grown more hostile, it's..." Her voice trailed off, unable to finish the sentence.

Maplepaw felt as if she might float away as her creamy paws bounced lightly along beside Moongaze. This was it! The apprentice contest! It was finnaly here! Suddenly she felt a tiny twinge of regret. Fishing? How could she possibly even hope to win fishing? Come on, Lakeclan had to win that! But then her determination stepped in. So what if she didn't win? As long as she did her best and shone for her clan she was fine. After all, that's what the apprentice contest was for! Sunclan couldn't win everything... However, her step lost some of it's bounce as the weight of it all came crashing down on her shoulders. Imagine losing! Would the other apprentices still like her? Would Skystar be angry? Would Moongaze be angry? Her round amber eyes traveled from the road ahead to her mentor.

..::Aquakit::.. Aquakit aroused from his dreamless sleep and stretched his legs.Rasping his tongue over some fray hairs he padded out of the nursery and bathed in the sun.Closing his eyes he thought of all the thigns he could be doing as an apprentice, he was now 6 and a halfish moons and would probably be apprenticed soon.At least thats what he hoped since some events had kept delaying him.Silently he peered around camp looking to find something to do.

|ooc| Dx That helps, Smiley.
Lionmane looked her over in skepticism, c0cking his head to the side with a resigned sigh. Where did she get all this negativity from? It was just mind-boggling. And the worrying, too. Those two were major problems, and the only thing that irked him about his mate. Optimism once in a while did wonders for your health. Plus... Him, perfect? Hah! He had to scoff at that comment. He was far from perfect. Perfect cats weren't lazy and only wanted to bask in the sun all day without having to hunt or do something productive for the clan, right? Shaking his head with a slight scowl, he batted her head softly. "Littlewind, Littlewind, Littlewind. Littlewind." The golden warrior fixed his liquid gold-and-brown eyes on her own orbs sternly. "No, they won't think that. They'll think, 'Wow, we sure are lucky to have a mom like we do!'. There's no need to assume the worst for the future." Though he could stoutly agree with her last statement. The world was changing, drastically in both good and bad ways. "Sure, the world has grown hostile, it's even dangerous. But we'll just have to live with it, won't we," he finished for her quietly. His mind was going to explode one of these days if she mentioned something negative about herself or about other things soon.

Sandfire hurried after Skystar, then turned and allowed her apprentice. "We haven't done much fighting yet," she meowed, correction, she thought, we haven't done any, "so think on your feet. Watch for weaknesses. Moves they can't quite pull of, that sort of thing. And most importantly, don't be afraid to win. Don't be afraid to do better, move faster, hit harder. You can do it, don't hold yourself back." She smiled reassuringly. "Got it?"

Littlewind nodded and tried fighting back sleep, but it was creeping through every inch of her body like a virus. We're parents. She said, though it was slurred. A smile crept onto her face at the thought, these kits were hers. Talk, that talk - in that spot... She murmured, remembering vaguely that talk that seemed to make them connect. She knew because it was after SunClan and before 'I love you'. She wondered if her kits would ever have kits of their very own, but that was later on. Way later on. She wanted to keep herself awake, but her eyes drooped and she barely fought consciousness.

"Exactly," Lionmane crooned warmly, pushing his nose against her shoulder. After her labour, she must be tired to the point where she could collapse without a second thought. "Maybe it's time for you to rest," he murmered in her ear quietly. Rest was good. He should know. He rested more than he hunted or fought. He was vaguely surprised that he wasn't a plump, fat cat that could barely even get to its paws; that description sort of reminded him of a Kittypet. Chuckling softly to himself, his head swayed over to the side so he could fix his gaze on the nursery's entrance and exitway upon hearing overly-familiar pawsteps. His brother. Well, well. As he lifted his head higher to get a better view, Bearface trotted in with two mice, juicy and delicious looking. Smacking his lips, Lionmane raised an eyebrow. "So. Who's the mice for?" "You and Littlewind, mouse-brain," the chocolate warrior mumbled around his mouth full of mice. Casually he padded up to Littlewind and Lionmane, laying the fresh rodents carefully on the ground before them. "Obviously, one is for you, my dolt of an older brother, and the other is for your drowsy mate." One corner of his muzzle lifted in a smile. "Thanks for pointing that out, brother dear." "Was nothing." Flicking his ears in chagrin, Bearface turned tail and calmly stalked out of the nursery with a farewell glance over his shoulder.

Littlewind felt herself slipping into unconscousness, which was the last thing she desired at that moment. She could no longer help it, and she fell asleep. She was in a dark cavern, there seemed to be no space around her. She looked ahead and saw four lights - she had to get to them. She started walking faster, but they seemed to get farther away as she treaded forward. She broke into a sprint, trying to get to the lights. She had to, they were so beautiful and perfect! But when she reached the four lights, all she saw were Lionmane and her three kits dead on the ground, slaughtered with blood surrounding them. Littlewind jolted awake and screamed, panting heavily with her paws cold and moist from sweat. She looked around with widened eyes - Lionmane was still there, and her kits were asleep. He seemed to have just finished his meal, how long had she been asleep? Half an hour? She set her head down, still picturing all of it. She bit back tears, though it wasn't hard with terror coursing through her veins.

That mouse had certainly been scrumptious. Licking his lips grandly, Lionmane yawned, groggy after the large meal. If he ate something this good more often, he knew he would be plump, possibly even lazier than he was now. He definitely had to thank Bearface later. The chocolate-furred warrior was a fantastic hunter, despite his large bulkiness and heavy pawsteps that could be heard more than five foxlengths away. He supposed that the bear-faced cat could be light-stepped if he really tried; how else could he catch these fine mice, with their sensitive hearing attuned to everything around them? Laying his golden head on his paws subtly, he closed his golden-brown eyes, almost drifting to sleep; a catnap sounded good right about now. Littlewind's sudden jolt and unexpected scream startled him gravely, and he instinctively jumped to his paws, the fur along his neck standing on end. Blinking, for he saw nothing disturbing to cause his mate's distress, he swung his head in her direction, frowning considerably. A nightmare, per chance? "What, Littlewind? Did you have a frightening dream of some sort?" he meowed with concern, crouching down to eye level, his tail swishing from side to side slowly as he tried to read her expression.

Littlewind nodded, her breathing heavy and cold against her paws. She took deep breaths, in and out, but they didn't help to calm her nerves. The kits were wailing at her discomfort, but she seemed unable to hear them. Lionmane it was terrible. She managed to whisper hoarsely, feeling faint and dizzy. You, and Shadowkit, and Windkit and Emeraldkit! You were all dead, and I - I She broke out crying again, the very memory just making her scream with terror. How could that have happened? Was it a message from StarClan? Littlewind grew frantic at the thought, wondering if this could be something that would happen in the very near future. [/blockquote]

|ooc| =D Heh. That would be ironic if Lionmane did die... -- ponders -- >:3
|bic| The golden tabby tom nodded, listening to her words in depth. "I'm sure it was just a nightmare, Littlewind. That won't happen. Honestly." In an effort to calm her down, and in return, possibly settling down the discomforted kits, he pressed his flank against her side, gently rasping his tongue over her ears. "You just have to calm down. Worrying about negative things tends to lead to troubling dreams. Now that's one reason why you need to tune down the pessimistic levels a notch or two." Twining his tail with hers, he smiled a small smile. "Everything will be perfectly fine, Littlewind."

ooc - no. heh, mother says no (:
bic - Littlewind sighed and nodded, calming down her breathing. "Yes, I know, Lionmane. Everything will be fine, you'll all be fine." ( i should've said ya'll! ) She glanced at the kits, snoozing so peacefully as if nothing was going wrong in the world. She looked out to the center of camp, smiling. It was so quiet, so empty. She looked down to her kits again and noticed something on Emeraldkit's fur. She was completely tan, almost like Windkit, but there was something about her...she had a long, red streak across her right flank. Littlewind looked to her side and laughed, leaning against Lionmane. "I guess that gash the bear gave me really went through, now Emeraldkit has a - we'll call it a birthmark." She smiled and felt slightly dizzy, but ignored the feeling. She had the perfect life, what could possibly go wrong?
ooc - that is NOT A SIGNAL FOR LIONMANE TO DIE! maybe get hurt, but NOT die! He can die when the kits are four moons old, kay? [/blockquote]
